From our Kids Minister

Hello Friends!

As I write this, I’m in the midst of preparing some fun and wacky ways to teach our elementary kids all about 1 Peter 4:10-11. I love to see kids get excited about serving God and others by using the gifts, talents, and abilities that God has uniquely gifted them with. Two of the things we love to focus on in Kids Ministry are service and missions. I’m really excited about some of the things we have coming up in the next few months:

Laundry Supply Drive! Sunday, February 10, is the last day of our Laundry Supply Drive for foster/adoptive families. We want to support the local foster/adoptive community as best we can, and we were asked to collect laundry supplies for them. Please bring in laundry detergent, fabric softener, dryer sheets and stain remover (preferably all scent-free). We will collect these and deliver them next week at the Okaloosa-Walton Foster and Adoptive Parent Group meeting. This is a wonderful way for all of us to do something to support the good work that these families are doing in our community.

• Kids Mission Days! On Saturday, May 18, we will be doing a Crosspoint-wide Kids Mission Days with all four campuses at the Emerald Coast Mud Run. Kids Mission Days are a great way for families to serve together, and for kids to see their parents model what it looks like to live a life of service. Look for more details closer to the event!

• Neighborhood Vacation Bible School! Our neighborhood VBS is back this year on June 3-6 from 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. We will be meeting in neighborhood parks out in our community. This is a great way for us all to get out and reach our unchurched neighbors and friends by inviting their kids to VBS within their own neighborhoods. One of our goals last year was to go out and reach unchurched kids, especially those who may not otherwise step foot in a church. We were able to do that last year, but we want to continue with that goal this year. Neighborhood VBS is also a great way for our churched kids to have fun and reach out to those kids in their neighborhoods. You can help out with this incredible opportunity by signing up to serve at one of our VBS site locations or by helping with prep activities before VBS. VBS is a great way for Life Groups to serve together as well. Be on the lookout for opportunities to sign up in the coming weeks!
