From our Campus Pastor
I remember it like it was yesterday. I was a fairly new believer in Christ and I showed up at my church a few minutes late to the Easter services that year. The reason I remember that moment so vividly is because I was shocked by something I overheard. You see, I got turned away from the church sanctuary and was guided to go to an overflow space in which we would watch the services on a large screen. Here is where it got interesting for me: I overheard someone complaining about “those people” who rarely come to church and decided to come on Easter. The person literally said, “I have to give up my seat for people who rarely attend church!” Now keep in mind, at the time I was a new Christian and I know for the last two to three years I had been one of those people who probably “took” someone’s seat on Easter. It was at that moment that I realized I wanted to be the kind of person that would always be willing to give up my seat for someone else! I knew that someone needed that seat more than me and that it had the potential to change the direction of a person’s life if they were able to experience God in a new way on Easter.
I know that here at Crosspoint, Bluewater Bay we have a group of people that are always willing to give up their seat as well. One of the easiest ways you can do that is choosing to attend either the Saturday night Easter service or the 8:00 a.m. Sunday service. This will be the first time we’ve done a Saturday service for Easter at this campus and we are sure to have a seat for you. We also know that the early service on Sunday will have enough room. Keep in mind that both of these services have food provided prior to and the Saturday night service will also have our Lead Pastor, Rurel Ausley preaching live.
